Amplitude, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMPL) Adds Statsig Founder to Board

What happened

Amplitude, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMPL) added Statsig founder Vijaye Raji to its board as it integrates the acquired experimentation platform.

Raji now serves as OpenAI's chief technology officer of applications. He joins a newly created ninth board seat and the cybersecurity committee.

The appointment gives the board direct knowledge of Statsig's product, customers and technical architecture. It does not establish a new commercial partnership with OpenAI.

Why it matters

Amplitude, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMPL) says Statsig will continue as a platform and brand. The company describes a combined product set spanning behavioral analytics, experimentation and optimization for more than 5,200 customers.

Raji founded Statsig in 2021 after working on experimentation systems at Facebook. Amplitude says Statsig's statistical engine uses methods including variance reduction and sequential testing.

That experience matters today because product teams need trustworthy experiments, not just more analytics features. Integration value depends on whether customers can move between measurement, testing and optimization without friction.

The governance link can reduce information loss after an acquisition. Raji can challenge product priorities and integration choices from the perspective of the founder who built the acquired platform.

His initial restricted-stock-unit award is valued at $525,000. That is three times the $175,000 annual equity award. The structure creates longer-term alignment, but compensation size does not measure integration progress.

The strongest counterargument is that board appointments are signals, not operating results. The new seat cannot prove customer retention, cross-sell, product reliability or revenue synergies.

What's next

The next evidence is the combined product roadmap, Statsig customer retention, cross-sell into the Amplitude base and changes in revenue growth. Investors should also watch whether the company reports integration costs or product overlap.

The investment case strengthens if Amplitude, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMPL) converts founder-level oversight into better adoption and durable economics. It remains unchanged if the appointment produces no measurable customer or financial result.
