Why it matters

OptimistFi's case is that Deckers works if its footwear portfolio keeps commanding premium demand while scale turns into high margins and cash. This filing strengthens that view. Net sales rose about $49.7 million from $1.43 billion a year earlier, and wholesale net sales increased 5.5% to $1.09 billion. Gross margin improved to 60.5% from 56.2%, and operating income rose to $389.5 million from $326.5 million.

The company ended the quarter with $1.21 billion of cash and cash equivalents and no outstanding borrowings. Tariff refunds lifted the quarter and the raised EPS outlook, while DTC net sales fell 1.8% and domestic net sales fell 0.4%. The release said the refunds added about 310 basis points to gross margin and operating margin in the quarter, and about 150 basis points in the full-year outlook.

What's next

The conference call to review second-quarter fiscal 2027 results is scheduled for today, Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 4:30 pm Eastern Time. Management will also discuss the full-year outlook, including net consolidated sales expected between $5.7 billion and $5.72 billion and diluted EPS expected at $7.80 to $7.95.

Rati Sahi Levesque's board appointment becomes effective December 1, 2026, when Lauri Shanahan retires. If management backs the raised EPS range, the case strengthens. A softer read on the back half would weaken it.
