Why it matters

The OptimistFi case is that value compounds when local loan and deposit relationships keep growing without a rise in credit losses, and this filing supports that view. Net interest income was $60.9 million, up 17.1 percent, and noninterest income was $12.3 million, up 18.4 percent. Nonperforming assets stayed at 0.1 percent of total assets. Local deposits rose $438 million while brokered deposits fell $110 million, so the brokered decline equals about 25.1 percent of the local deposit gain.

The loan-to-deposit ratio fell to 88.3 percent from 91.2 percent at December 31, 2025. The mixed part is that the quarter also included $0.4 million of core conversion costs and $0.2 million of acquisition costs. Management still expects the system conversion in the first quarter of 2027.

What's next

Management's third-quarter 2026 conference call is scheduled for Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at 10:00 am Eastern Time. The company expects the core and digital banking system conversion in the first quarter of 2027. The remaining $20.1 million of brokered deposits is scheduled to mature in late 2026. The filing says delays, cost overruns or disruptions could hurt the expected benefits of that conversion.

A smooth transition and continued local deposit growth would strengthen the case. Delays in the conversion would weaken it. The next update will show whether the balance-sheet mix and service investments hold up.
