Why it matters

OptimistFi's case is that MINISO converts a low-cost lifestyle brand, broad franchise footprint and global sourcing into high-margin, cash-generative retail growth.

Zhang's open-market buy supports that case because the CFO added 150,600 shares and ended with 394,474 shares on the record.

OptimistFi's calculation shows the purchase was 61.8% of Zhang's holding before the trade. That makes the buy large relative to the base it was added to.

The filing says the reported price was a weighted average from multiple open-market purchases in Hong Kong, not a single block.

The filing also says the corresponding ordinary shares were bought at prices denominated in Hong Kong dollars, with the weighted average converted at HK$7.8439 to US$1.00.

The filing also says 174,074 ordinary shares were held in the form of American depositary shares. Each ADS represents four ordinary shares.

The Hong Kong price range and the exchange rate provide the trail from local trading to the dollar value reported here.

That leaves a dated ownership snapshot the market can compare with later filings and operating reports. The form also identifies Zhang as an officer, which makes the purchase more relevant than a trade by an outside holder.

What's next

The filing leaves Zhang's 394,474-share stake as the current public baseline, including 174,074 ordinary shares held through ADSs.
