Why it matters

The 750,000 shares were about 1.9% of the 38,867,808 shares Troim held before the trade. That makes this a steady add to a large stake, not a move that changes control. After the purchase, he still held a sizable indirect position.

OptimistFi's case is that Borr is a cyclical, operating-leverage bet on tight high-spec jack-up rig supply. A director buy fits that view because it comes from someone with a large existing stake. Still, the filing only shows size, price and ownership structure. It does not show stronger contract demand, firmer dayrates or better cash generation.

Because the stake is indirect, the filing shows beneficial ownership through Drew Holdings Ltd. It still changes Troim's economic exposure. It also gives investors a fresh price point for later insider filings.

What's next

Borr Drilling Ltd.'s next quarterly report is the next scheduled test of contract demand and dayrates. If the report is stronger, it would support OptimistFi's view that the modern fleet can turn tight rig supply into sustained cash and balance-sheet repair. If it is weaker, this filing will remain one director's purchase, not operating proof.

Until then, the Form 4 is an ownership data point, not a business result. If the next report shows improved cash generation, it would give the buy a clearer business read-through. That would make later Form 4s easier to judge against this trade.
