Century Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ: IPSC) Adds Two CNTY-813 Batches

What happened

Century Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ: IPSC) added two more clinical-scale batches to the manufacturing evidence behind its lead diabetes program.

The October 2 update said five CNTY-813 batches produced consistent final-product profiles. Century Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ: IPSC) had disclosed three independent batches in June. That is two additional runs, a 66.7% increase in the demonstrated batch count.

The company also reported glucose control for more than 11 months in diabetic mice and function after 96 hours of cold storage. Rat-liver tests showed one-month engraftment using the intended clinical delivery route. A planned fourth-quarter 2026 IND filing and initial human data in the second half of 2027 remain forecasts.

Why it matters

An off-the-shelf cell therapy needs more than promising biology. It also needs a repeatable manufacturing process that can make the same product at clinical scale. Moving from three disclosed batches to five gives Century Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ: IPSC) a broader CMC package before regulators review the program.

The standing investment case depends on proving that the platform can become a clinically validated product before cash burn forces more dilution. The manufacturing update strengthens that execution claim, but it does not prove the Food and Drug Administration will clear the IND.

Century Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ: IPSC) reported $197.2 million of cash, cash equivalents and investments at June 30 and expected that capital to fund operations into the first quarter of 2029. The same filing says the company expects continuing losses and will need additional financing. A January private placement delivered about $126.4 million of net proceeds while adding shares and warrants, showing what funding can cost existing holders.

The strongest countercase is simple: every efficacy and immune-evasion result in this update came from animals. Rodent data cannot establish human safety, dosing, tumor risk, immune durability or glucose control.

What's next

The update strengthens the technical-execution case for Century Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ: IPSC), not the full stock case. The next observable test is whether the company submits the IND in the fourth quarter and whether regulators clear clinical testing without material CMC delays.

IND clearance followed by tolerable early safety and a human pharmacodynamic signal would strengthen the case. A filing delay, additional manufacturing requests or failure to reproduce the biology in patients would weaken it.
