Lincoln University men's track and field team put fear into their competition at the Thomson Invitational Indoor Track and Field meet at the Delaware Field House. Leaving the meet with five first place finishes, the "Lincoln Lions" displayed outstanding efforts from stand-out athletes.

"This is just training," said Aaron Hunter, a jumper and runner for the team. "We still need improvement, so we can be the best we can be."

On the track, Anthony Bishop ran 7.07 seconds to win the 60 meter dash, dropping his time tremendously from the preliminaries. His teammates, Andre Wilkinson (7.27) and Rushane Scott (7.29), finished sixth and seventh in the same event.

Randy Dawkins also exhibited a notable performance by winning the 400 meters in 50.8 seconds. Limiel Hodges and Alex Wright finished amongst the top nine, with Hodges running 53.43 seconds and Wright running 53.45 seconds.

Three men competed in the 800 meters, giving Lincoln University first, fourth, and fifth place finishes. The top finisher was Vincent Thomas, with a time of 2:00.95 seconds. Lance Wigfall (2:04.86) and James Thompson (2:07.39) followed accordingly.
Finishing fifth in the 200 meter dash was sophomore, Todd Mason, who finished in 23.73 seconds. In the field, Aaron Hunter jumped a season's best 47-6.5, helping him to win the triple jump, over Salisbury's Sasha Charleron.

"Although this was my personal best this season, it was not my best jump," said Hunter. "I still have more in me."

Ending the meet, Lincoln's men ran three 4x400 meter teams with the first winning in 3:24.23 seconds. Each of Lincoln's relay teams finished in the top four.
