Jesse Epps, a veteran civil rights leader who knew and worked closely with Dr. Martin Luther King., Jr. will be the featured Black History Month speaker at Lincoln University later this month. Epps, 71, is well-known because he invited Dr. King to Memphis, Tenn.
Lincoln University's President Dr. Ivory V. Nelson is planning to step down from his post next year.
A flu epidemic on campus is forcing dozens of students to miss class and has kept the staff at the Health Service office very busy. The epidemic broke out in mid-January and there is no sign that it is retreating. "On a day-to-day basis, our office sees at least 70 students," says Kim Miller, a nurse at the Health Service office.
It's that time of the year again. The Student Government Association recently held its 2nd Annual Interest meeting for those students interested in serving as officers in year's Student Government Association (SGA). Available positions include: President, Vice President of Internal Affairs, Vice President of External Affairs, Treasurer, Secretary and President Pro-Temp.
The Lincoln University Muslim Student Association is seemingly inactive. Where numerous students once congregated in the Living Learning Center for prayer and communion, now stands an empty room desolate from the Muslim community. "Everybody feels like they have something better to do," says Hafeeza Malik, secretary of the MSA.
